Summary
As a Toolmaker/ Tool and Die Maintenance Technician apprentice at Ricor NE you will be predominantly involved in the highly skilled, complex and specialist detailed work of manufacturing and maintaining the engineering tooling used to produce components, products and assemblies for the automotive industry.
Wage
£14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Pay increments throughout the apprenticeship will be discussed on an individual basis according to progression of knowledge, skills, and behaviors. All rules for legal increases due to age and minimum wage will be adhered to.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
* Assist with service and repair of press tooling, jigs, fixtures and checking media
* To support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of production
* To attend press breakdowns, identify causes, problem solve and implement solutions at the press machine with minimal downtime
* To take ownership of specific tool suites and maintain performance with minimal supervision once qualified
* To improve and develop current production and new project tooling
* To ensure company targets are met in respect of delivery and quality of parts produced
* To manufacture tool and ancillary spares, replacements, and modification components
* To document and update die history and other work records
Ensure safe working practices are maintained and adhered to
Undertake personal training to enhance skills necessary to perform key tasks
* To comply with any reasonable requests and duties as may be assigned by the Tool Room Supervisor and/or Manager from time to time.

Your training plan
The training will take place in the first year on site at NC Group Ltd Academy, which is located approx. half a mile from Ricor Northeast. The first year will be full time at the academy, and year two through completion will be based on a timetable of day release at the academy plus training in role at Ricor Northeast.

NC Group Ltd is a private training provider specializing in engineering and manufacturing, helping employers bridge skills gaps and professionally upskill staff members, both existing and new. The training will be delivered by vastly experienced staff that have recently been awarded Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted.
On commencement of the apprenticeship, apprentices will be automatically enrolled in an employee assist program that gives access to mental health support, wellbeing support, and physical health support to aid them if required throughout their time with us. This support is 100% confidential. A year 1 timetable will be given and who the area specialists are for each subject. A rigorous enrolment will be conducted that will be used to support apprentices where necessary during their program if any further assistance is required. NC Group Ltd also carries out a lot of work in the community with our apprentices, including charity work, skills competitions, and supporting local schools, among many other things that give apprentices a rich pastoral side to their apprenticeship journey.

This role is predominantly indoors and comes with a great deal of responsibility, ultimately the apprentice will become key in ensuring: 1 Keeping production down time to a minimum 2 Maximising of machinery efficiency (OEE) 3 Minimising of Quality issues relating to issues with tooling and fixturing (no fault forward).
