Equans is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Hospital on a permanent basis.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and in addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
* Actively participate in all planned maintenance activities, perform essential repairs, and conduct general maintenance on plant and non-medical equipment.
* Complete tasks from the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and respond to reactive work orders. Tasks include fault diagnosis, sourcing parts, and ensuring thorough follow-through.
* Complete all necessary report sheets, test certificates, Task/Risk Assessment sheets, and mark up any required drawing alterations.
* Use all tools and equipment safely, adhering to site-specific safety protocols (e.g., Risk Assessment, Site Safety, Fire Safety, Infection Control, and Hazardous Substances).
* Conduct emergency repairs as required, which may involve overtime, while working under supervision during the training period.
* Gain insight into other maintenance crafts and understand their relevance to the role for better teamwork and flexibility.
* Report defects to the Technical Supervisor and provide feedback on building services and PPM outcomes, especially regarding Fire Safety.

Who are we looking for?
* It would be beneficial to the role and department if the individual had previous experience of building service systems, technical services provision and general maintenance however training will be provided.
* Must have IT experience to support in the stores during periods of annual leave/sickness
* Must be able to obtain a Disclosure Scotland at a Basic Level
