Job summary Applications are welcome for a full time Consultant Psychiatrist (10PAs) on a permanent contract, working within the Adult Mental Health Care Unit. This is an exciting time to come and join our Medical Workforce and have the opportunity to shape the provision of care to patients within the community transformation. The main focus of this post will be provision of mental health services to the county region of Nottingham, specifically the Broxtowe and Hucknall Locality Mental Health Team, which covers the relevant practices within the catchment area and includes the associated university populations. An Advisory Appointment Committee (AAC) will be required for this post. Main duties of the job The main role will include the assessment of new patients /and follow up patients referred to the service related to patients resident in the catchment area, GP liaison work, management of patients within the recovery model and the Assertive Outreach pathway, Mental Health Act work (Section 12) when required, day on-call duty rota (this will be based on a pro rata and on average 3 to 4 times a month for emergency work only, will be factored in the sessions and will not increase work load), cover for colleagues when on leave and working within the multidisciplinary team supporting other members of the team. There will be an emphasis on providing leadership and consultancy to the team.
