We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join an established and growing Residential Developer based in Birmingham. Key Responsibilities: Site Feasibility Studies Conduct feasibility studies to assess potential residential development sites. Evaluate site constraints, utility availability, ground conditions, and environmental factors. Detailed Engineering Design Prepare detailed engineering designs for residential infrastructure, including drainage, highways, and external works. Ensure designs comply with relevant technical standards, regulations, and planning requirements. Coordination with Stakeholders Liaise with architects, planners, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery. Communicate effectively with local authorities for planning approvals and adoption agreements. Project Management Oversee the implementation of engineering solutions on-site, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget. Identify and address potential technical issues proactively. Adoption Process Management Manage Section 38, Section 104, and Section 278 agreements to facilitate timely adoption of roads and drainage by local authorities and water companies. Compliance and Documentation Prepare and submit technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and calculations. Ensure compliance with NHBC, Building Regulations, and other relevant standards. Quality Assurance Monitor site activities to ensure engineering works meet design specifications and quality standards. Conduct inspections and resolve any technical issues on-site. Qualifications and Experience Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in residential engineering within the private house building sector. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroDrainage (WinDes), and other relevant software. Familiarity with NHBC and local authority requirements. Skills and Attributes Strong technical knowledge of residential infrastructure, drainage, and highway design. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
