Make a Difference with Young Carers
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of young carers? We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Project Coordinator to join our Rotherham Young Carers Service. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of supporting families where children and young people care for a loved one with an illness or disability.
Your day-to-day will be diverse and dynamic, combining casework management with the opportunity to lead and inspire a team of talented practitioners. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that children, young people, and their families receive the timely and tailored support they need. Whether you're working one-on-one with clients, facilitating group work, or overseeing a range of service operations, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality support.
You'll also lead the charge in promoting and training local services on how to identify and support young carers, ensuring that every family in need has access to the right resources. Working closely with the Service Manager and other stakeholders, you’ll help shape the future of young carers’ services, ensuring the voices of those we support are heard and acted upon.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a passion for helping families, particularly young carers, and the skills to lead a dedicated team. You’ll need experience working with complex families, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners and families. Experience in supervising staff or volunteers is highly valued, as is a deep understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
You’ll be flexible, with access to a vehicle for work purposes, and able to work some out-of-hours as required by the service. Most importantly, you’ll bring a ‘can-do’ attitude, a commitment to promoting equality and diversity, and a genuine desire to help young carers thrive.
Why Join Us?
At Family Action, we believe in building stronger families, and we’re proud of the values that guide us in everything we do. You’ll be part of a team that’s people-focused, striving for excellence, and always putting mutual respect at the heart of our work. If you share these values and want to be part of an exciting and impactful service, we’d love to hear from you.
What will we offer you?
We’ll offer you a generous pension scheme and leave entitlements, eye care vouchers, a cycle to work scheme and other great benefits. All roles in Family Action are open to a discussion about possible flexible working options, subject to business needs, and all new starters will have the right to make a flexible working request from day one of employment. We have an excellent wellbeing offer and we will invest in your professional development with ongoing quality training and career development opportunities. You’ll join an established, supportive and high-performing service and have the opportunity to thrive in an innovative organisation that values your opinion, encourages learning and has the needs of children and families at its core.
We are forward-looking, ambitious and committed to continuous improvement. We are a people-focused, can-do organisation, which strives for excellence in all we do and operates with mutual respect. If you share these values and behaviours and have the necessary skills then we look forward to hearing from you.
