Salary range: £55k to £65k
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Newcastle (one / two days per week in our office at Newcastle Broadcasting Centre on Barrack Road)

Role Responsibilities
* Demonstrate expertise in full stack development and leadership, with a focus on data technologies.
* Take a structured and professional approach to engineering, ensuring high-quality development.
* Emphasis on attention to detail, with the ability to build performant and scalable applications.
* Collaborate with Test Engineers to find best solutions to test the data platform’s infrastructure.
* Mentor junior engineers, promote a culture of learning, and stay up to date with new technologies, particularly in data domains.
* Contribute to high-level architecture decisions and integrations, leveraging a wide range of AWS technologies.
* Collaborate with leadership to build and nurture the engineering community.
* Foster relationships with local engineering networks for a sustainable talent pipeline and team scalability.
* Remain hands-on in coding while supporting less experienced engineers.
* Improve the team’s CI/CD tools integration and operations and can also help ensure end-to-end quality of the integration systems.
* Conduct code reviews, maintain and implement coding standards, and guidelines.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement requirements.
* Dedicated to growing the Tech Hub, and eager to engage with the North-East tech community.
* Work alongside the product managers, offering technical solutions to new product features.

* Stream-Processing: Apache Kafka, Apache Flink
We create and support reliable and scalable cloud-based services on Amazon Web Services, use Git and GitHub for version control and practice pair programming and Test-Driven Development where possible.
