We are looking for care assistants for our residents. Braeburn Home is a small, independent care home offering excellent care for our residents. We focus on independence, choice, and meaningful relationships.
JOB TITLE: Care Assistant
HOURS: 39 hours a week - any 3 or 4 of 7 days
RESPONSIBLE TO: The Care Home Manager / Registered Nurse / Person in charge
MAIN JOB PURPOSE: Providing holistic, respectful, person-centered care & support to residents and their families.
Role Specific Duties:
1. Ensure Residents are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their well-being.
2. Support Residents to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community.
3. Ensure care plans and other information about how to support Residents are followed.
4. Be responsible for informing Senior Carer/Nurse of any changes in the needs of Residents.
5. Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported.
Working with Others:
1. Excellent team working skills and ability to work independently within the team.
2. Work in cooperation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to maximize opportunities for Residents.
Leading By Example:
1. Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
2. Be a role model for other carers and be an ambassador for the service.
3. Work within the SSSC Code of Practice.
4. Be professional, polite, and reasonable at all times.
Personal Responsibilities:
1. Be registered with the SSSC and work within the Code of Practice within 3 months of starting.
2. Knowledge of, and work within, the Health and Social Care Standards.
3. SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or ability to work towards this.
4. Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management.
5. Understand and follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role.
6. Be open to learning opportunities.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
1. Current registration with SSSC or willing to register.
2. SVQ2 in health and social care desired.
3. Excellent verbal and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.02 per hour
Expected hours: 39 per week
