Our client is a premium streetwear brand launched in 2023 and experiencing phenomenal online growth. They are looking to recruit a creative Mens Streetwear Designer to join their team who has a strong understanding of culture and has worked on collaborations.
The designer must have an in-depth knowledge in multi-product apparel design including jersey, woven, and outerwear. The design process for this brand is very much collaborative. Previous experience working on collaborations and with music artists is preferred.
Strong graphic design skills are required as well as an understanding of how to apply graphics to apparel through print techniques, applications, fabric, and trim development. The role will involve producing and following supplied references and inspiration with the ability to translate this into commercial collections. Experience in garment construction is equally important as an interest in streetwear culture. You will report to the Head of Design, working closely with a team of designers and brand directors.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Research new colours, trims, and fabrics, producing mood boards
2. Produce sketches, technical drawings, and tech packs in Adobe Illustrator with high attention to detail
3. Confidently present in front of brand directors
4. Handover tech packs to the product development team, ensuring that key design details are translated
5. Ensure key deadlines are met
Experience Required
1. Collaborations with brands and/or artists
2. Ability to create exciting seasonal collections in line with research and direction provided, from concept through to production
3. In-depth knowledge of current and past streetwear trends
4. Ideally educated to a degree level in fashion design
5. Immersed in style and culture
6. Excellent time management skills
7. Strong communication skills
This role is based on-site full time in Central Manchester, with a salary of up to £50k depending on experience.
