We have a very exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Sister/ Charge Nurse to come and work within our passionate team here on Ward F7, where we believe that an open, honest, approachable and transparent environment, together with amazing teamwork is the key to happy staff and good, safe patient care.
F7 is a fast paced, 34 bedded Short Stay acute Medical Ward, responsible for maximising patient flow within the hospital. We receive patients from the Acute Assessment Unit and Emergency Department with a diverse range of medical conditions.
F7 is also the designated ward for Aerosol Generating Procedures (AGP) such as Non-Invasive Ventilation and as a Registered Nurse on F7, you will have the opportunity to train in order to care for these patients.

We have 3 Posts available:
1. 1 Fixed Term/ Secondment for up to 12 Months - 34.5 hours per week
2. 1 Fixed Term/ Secondment for up to 12 Months - 37.5 hours per week
3. 1 Fixed Term/ Secondment for up to 12 Months - 25 hours per week
Main duties of the job
As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for:
1. Providing leadership on clinical shifts, managing the staff, coordinating the shift and ensuring patient safety at all times.
2. Supporting and educating staff on the shop floor, to ensure competency of colleagues.
3. Working together with the Ward Manager to provide support in ensuring safe, high standards and quality to the ward, patients and their families.

STAFF CAR PARKING
Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 18:30.
For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.
This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete on call duties within their role.
