An opportunity exists for a Finance Director within ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions, UK & Ireland Door Group, reporting to the Managing Director. This role is based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.
The Company is a leading manufacturer of high-performance steel and timber doors, tailor made to individual project requirements from its Powershield, Prima, Safeguard and SMARTec ranges. Door Group offers an end-to-end solution including the Service and Repair of many varying door types through a dedicated department, which incorporates Fire Door Inspections.
The primary objective of this position is:
To be responsible for managing the finance function across the Door Group. To provide strong leadership and develop systems and processes to support improved management of the company. To analyse performance and identify risk and ensure good financial governance across the business. To play a major role in the development and implementation of the company’s strategic plans in order that financial and growth targets are achieved.
Key responsibilities and duties are:
1. To support the preparation of Business Unit realistic and achievable plans and targets along with ensuring that the company delivers its commitments
2. Responsible for the production of all financial information of the Door Group to the Group and to the senior and operational management of the company
3. Responsible for the construction accounting process to ensure that full visibility of projects, in terms of sales and profitability, are available at every stage of their life cycle
4. Actively seek methods to enhance the overall efficiency and performance of projects. Interrogating data in system processes for accuracy and reliability
5. Review of all financial reporting processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of internal reporting.
6. Responsible for the development and delivery of improved IT systems to support seamless and accurate financial management from specification to cash collection, and in support of better operating practices
7. Cash flow management
8. Ensure strong financial governance through effective controls within the financial processes, improving or introducing new processes where applicable
9. Prepare, monitor and maintain monthly/quarterly/annual department and business unit forecasts and budgets
10. Preparation and control of the monthly management accounts, in line with tight Group deadlines
11. Control and reconciliation of business unit balance sheet
12. To support all statutory and legislative financial requirements including statutory audits, HMRC and Irish Revenue Commission, NISRA and DFP
13. Adhere to all Group reporting requirements and deadlines
14. Assess and reduce the company’s exposure to financial risk

The ideal candidate will:
15. Hold a qualification in Accountancy (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
16. Previous experience on a senior finance role is essential
17. Has functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment
18. Preferably have experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics AX or NAV
19. Strong IT skills, including PowerPoint and Excel to an advanced level
20. Have experience in Manufacturing and/or Construction
21. Have successfully worked to tight deadlines in a fast pasced environment
22. Have the ability to build strong relationships and influence individuals/teams at different levels across the organisation
23. Have excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
24. Good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done
25. Understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient work flow
26. Knows what to measure and how to measure it
27. Can see opportunities for synergy and integration where others can’t
28. Can simplify complex processes
