The Bursar is a key senior leadership position at Eton. Reporting directly to the Head Master, but working closely with the Provost & Fellows (the governing body), the Bursar is responsible for both financial strategy and operational delivery and plays a central role in the strategic development of the College.
The Bursar will be responsible for developing and implementing the College’s financial strategy to ensure long-term financial sustainability and will be expected to work closely and proactively with all parts of the College to consider and propose areas for investment, as well as appropriate economies where possible. The Bursar has oversight of the College’s securities and property portfolios (working closely with the P&F’s Endowment Committee), ensuring effective management and growth in alignment with the College’s mission and values.
