Historically, our information systems have grown organically without a strategic approach, resulting in over 25 disparate information delivery systems. This has led to increased obsolescence, reduced information security, and higher costs. Our mission is to create a secure, scalable, and interoperable single information platform that unifies our intranet, extranet, and public-facing domains.
Role Overview:
As a Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in analysing and investigating the market to decide the best way forward from where the platform is now. You will be responsible for understanding the capabilities and complexities of the existing live services, both functional and non-functional. Investigating the systems/options available and being able to demonstrate the financial and user benefits of each recommended outcome. Designing HLD around the implementation of a unified information platform. You will also create service offerings and set standards based on best practices to ensure effective information management. Your work will directly contribute to cost reductions, enhanced AI utilization, increased reuse, and better decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Design: Develop and implement a strategic approach to consolidate over 25 information delivery systems into a single, unified platform.
2. Security & Compliance: Ensure the new platform adheres to the highest standards of information security and compliance, reducing the risk of security breaches.
3. Legacy System Removal: Drive the removal of legacy systems and promote the adoption of new service offerings.
4. User Experience: Enhance the User Experience Journey by providing a consistent and seamless user experience across all our information access points.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with other stakeholders to agree on appropriate strategies and standards.
6. Best Practices: Establish and maintain best practices for information management.
7. Problem-solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
8. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar role.
2. Strong understanding of information security principles and best practices.
Desirable:
1. Experience with AI integration and its application in information management.
2. Relevant certifications in architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) are a plus.
