Energis is exclusively recruiting for an experienced Design Engineer to join our client based in Co Antrim. This role has arisen due to continued growth.

As a Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within the engineering team, leading the development of detailed technical drawings and plans for complex GRP products and projects. Leveraging your expertise in CAD software and engineering principles, you will guide the design process, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the creation of comprehensive 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, and blueprints using CAD software, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
* Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to conceptualise, refine, and optimise product designs, balancing functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
* Conduct thorough reviews and revisions of drawings, addressing any design discrepancies, modifications, or enhancements to meet project requirements and quality standards.
* Manage the development of production drawings, bills of materials, and other technical documentation, facilitating smooth communication and coordination between design, production, and other departments.
* Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in draughting and engineering design, proactively integrating new tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality.
* Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation including, drawings, bill of materials, design parameters and performance guarantees for future reference.
Criteria:
* Third level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
* Previous experience as a designer or CAD technician, with a demonstrated track record of leading complex projects and delivering high-quality drawings in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools, with advanced skills in 3D modelling, parametric design, and drafting techniques.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions and driving continuous improvement.
* Knowledge of fabrication processes, and industry-specific requirements is highly desirable.
Salary is dependant upon experience and in the region of £37/38k.
