Job

Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are always looking forward. Join us in one of our Transport Infrastructure Engineering teams and, as well as maintaining legacy assets, you’ll deliver new systems and solutions. This is about connecting communities, creating opportunities, and being a strong green heartbeat for London.
Day-to-day, your focus will be on delivering or assuring electrical designs, drawings, information, calculations and enhancements that keep vital, innovative and big-budget projects moving. You’ll ensure assets are safe, working and compliant; develop your own solutions; and be a trusted source of engineering advice for everyone, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery.
As an Electrical Engineer within the Building Services Engineering team, with design or design assurance skills in areas such as LV electrical distribution, small power, lighting, emergency lighting, UPS, cabling, solar PV and EV charging, you will either be an associate member working towards chartership or already have chartership via an appropriate Institution (IET or CIBSE etc.). You’ll have good knowledge of electrical systems within the building services industry. Along with working knowledge of design, construction, operation, maintenance and assessment of electrical systems within a transport environment, you will have a good understanding of relevant electrical legislation and associated standards. You’ll also have the ability to make recommendations and provide advice to stakeholders and other Engineering team members. You’ll be aware of interfaces to mechanical, fire, communications and other assets. You will need to be a clear communicator, both verbally and in report writing and may work either as part of a multi-disciplinary team or alone in certain instances.
The more teams you’ve been a part of, the better. But it’s important you bring a passion for the TfL Vision and strategy too. That’s because, wherever you join us, you’ll explore work of unparalleled scale, scope and variety across a unique range of projects, as you build your career and expertise. So come and bring on tomorrow, as an Engineer at TfL.
