We have a fantastic opportunity for a Live Events Technical Manager to join a leading events venue in Birmingham, playing a vital role in delivering high-quality technical support for a variety of conferences, product launches, and gala dinners.
As the Live Events Technical Manager, you will lead and manage the technical requirements for events, ensuring the smooth setup and operation of lighting, sound, and AV equipment. You'll be working closely with the events team to ensure client satisfaction and the seamless delivery of events, as well as managing a team of technicians and apprentices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the technical delivery of conferences and events, including lighting, sound, and AV.
2. Manage and support a team of technicians in event setup and operations.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during events.
4. Maintain and manage an inventory of technical equipment, including regular testing and stock checks.
5. Provide excellent customer service, liaising with clients regarding their technical needs.
6. Collaborate with the Events and Technical Project Manager to plan and deliver event requirements.
7. Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
8. Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed during event setups and operations.
Skills and Experience:
1. Strong technical background in AV, lighting, and sound, with experience in live events or conferencing.
2. Experience managing a team of technicians, ideally within a theatre or event production environment.
3. Knowledge of hybrid and virtual conferencing platforms.
4. Familiarity with current health and safety legislation relating to live events.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
6. A positive, flexible attitude and the ability to work well under pressure.

1. Salary range: £29,000 - £31,500, plus a performance-related bonus.
