We are looking for a passionate, innovative and enthusiastic Perinatal Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to undertake a new project improving pelvic health during the child bearing continuum for a period of 12 Months.
The purpose of this role is to lead and support the local implementation of a perinatal pelvic health service (PPHS) designed in collaboration with SHIP Local Maternity and Neonatal system (LMNS) and NHS England. A minimum of 0.1wte hours per week will be dedicated to the PPHS project, with a specific focus on the education and training programme. This is in line with the NHS Long Term plan commitment to improve access to postnatal physiotherapy services for women. The local ambition is that ALL women have education and advice around pelvic health and access to Physiotherapy services.
Responsibilities include:
1. Provide highly specialist physiotherapy intervention to patients in the perinatal pelvic health service, assessing and treating a caseload of patients with complex presentations.
2. Maintain associated records as an autonomous practitioner.
3. Take on specified management tasks in supporting the implementation of the SHIP LMNS Perinatal Pelvic Health Service (PPHS).
4. Lead and collaborate in the supervision and teaching of qualified and recently qualified physiotherapists, students, therapy assistants, and multi-disciplinary team staff.
5. Work within the multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist physiotherapy.
6. Deputise for senior staff in their absence as required.
7. Undertake evidence-based projects, including recommendations for change in practice, and participate in departmental and LMNS PPHS research and audit.
