JOB TITLE: Grounds Maintenance Operative
LOCATION: Horndean – Covering Horndean, Petersfield, Ham Barn, Liss & surrounding
SALARY: Up to £24,960 DOE + van + benefits
DURATION: 12 week Temporary to go to Perm
The Employer:
We are looking to fill the role of a Grounds Maintenance Operative within a housing environment. Our client is one of the largest Social Housing providers in the South of England, ambitious and with a huge 5-year plan. We are seeking a GMO to assist with their main aim of creating a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes, and investing in existing ones to create vibrant, thriving communities.
The Role:
* Responsible for the delivery of the Grounds Maintenance service to the communal areas of our clients managed estates.
* Using a PDA Reporting system to record site visits and tasks carried out.
* To include grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning, weed control, litter picking, and other works.
* Ensuring that equipment is regularly washed, kept clean, and in good condition; report any defects to the supervisor.
* Ensuring that all vehicles are kept clean with regular checks to oil and coolant levels; report any defects to the fleet manager.
* Assisting all other trades as and when required, ensuring that residents/customers receive a high-quality service.
The Candidate needs:
* Experience in a similar role or trade background, preferably with experience in Grounds Maintenance.
* Knowledge and understanding of practical and technical issues relevant to Grounds Maintenance.
* Knowledge and skills in the use of both mechanical & hand tools used in grounds maintenance operations.
* An understanding of customer needs and the ability to think quickly when needed.
* To behave in a courteous and professional manner.
* To be able to prioritise conflicting demands.
* Great communication skills.
* The ability to maintain accurate records of information.
* Basic IT skills.
* Current holder of National Proficiency Test certificate for the safe control & use of pesticide or Pa1, Pa6a.
* A clean Driving Licence with towing ability.
SUMMARY:
This is a Temp to Perm, full-time role, working a 40-hour week over 5 days. The role requires a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
