Job Description
The Dimensional Engineer is responsible for leading dimensional improvements in vehicle geometry, specifically focusing on Closures through part, tooling, or design actions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze complex Closures and associated components using various measurement systems such as Meisterbock, quality assurance fixtures, laser trackers, CMMs, and In-Line Vision Stations.
2. Perform data analysis, organizing data from multiple sources to identify top issues and potential root causes in Closures.
3. Collaborate with production personnel and plant quality engineers to implement and validate proposed solutions for Closures.
4. Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions for Closures through comprehensive data analysis.
5. Proactively monitor trend charts and engage with cross-functional teams to drive variation reduction of critical product and process characteristics related to Closures.
6. Interact with suppliers, both internal and external, to communicate issues and drive resolution specific to Closures.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
Skills:
1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; knowledge in basic statistics and process control is required.
2. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
3. Proficient understanding of GD&T and the use of gauges and fixtures, particularly with relevance to Closures.
4. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
