The Cash & Customer Account Services Team have an exciting opportunity for an Income Assistant Manager to join us in our Bristol office on a 6 month basis. The Income Assistant Manager will be the support for the day to day running of the teams whilst Unite deliver the ongoing transformation program for Finance and the business as a whole. This role will report to the Income Manager, supporting in leading the Cash & Customer Account Services Team within Unite's Corporate Shared Service Centre.
The Income Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the leadership and maintenance of business as usual activities for the cash, accounts support and third party team. They will oversee the financial aspect of all bank and payment transactions including customer accounts. The role will support the income manager in ensuring all inbound and outbound cash transactions are completed and reconciled per business requirements.

Support the identification of opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements, leveraging technology solutions.
About The Team
The Cash & Customer Accounts team has overall responsibility for collecting, paying and allocating all inbound and outbound cash payments to the correct customer account or account code. The main accountabilities include:
* Customer refunds
* Bank and GL reconciliations
* Payment plans and promises
* Customer account allocations
* Outbound payments including Treasury, AP and Payroll
The Team provides process appreciation, training guidance and is a centre of payment and customer account knowledge and expertise for other Unite Functions, Properties and Cities.
What You' ll Be Doing
* Supporting with successful business payment executions (PT-X, WorldPay, BankLine)
* Provide MI to support functional and business decisions
* Develop greater control and discipline - Audit-proof reconciliations
* Clear SLA's for the Team's deliverables and query resolution
* Improving our reporting capability for KPIs and SLA's
* Define and/or improve business process documentation
* Improvements to the collation, input and integrity of customer data
* Knowledge sharing and removing instances of single points of failure across the team is also a key deliverable.
* Understanding the type of customer data we are managing and how it is used and relied on across the organization
* Support and contribute to Finance impacting projects including requirement gathering, subject matter expertise and testing
* Managing the team and setting objectives, which meet the needs of the Finance team, ensuring development of team members including the apprenticeship scheme.

* Detailed understanding and appreciation of all Finance and Customer Facing Functions
* Advanced Excel Skills with a good understanding of Look-ups and Pivot tables
* A self-starter who can demonstrate initiative, with the ability to prioritise workloads of self and team members
* An ability to communicate at all levels and develop good working relationships
* Ability to organise workload to meet agreed deadlines
* Strong attention to detail
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
