We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Practice Nurse. The role is to ensure the delivery of an effective Practice Nurse service to the practice population, delivering care appropriately according to practice policy, protocols, guidelines, and procedures.
Main duties of the job
* To carry out a wide range of treatment room duties e.g: venepuncture, new registration checks, blood pressure checks, ECGs, vaccinations, and immunisations.
* To run Chronic Disease Clinics such as CHD, Diabetes, and Respiratory.
* Offer appropriate lifestyle advice to patients.
* To provide support to the nursing team to ensure smooth running of the nursing service.

Job responsibilities
Clinical Practice:
* Assess, plan, provide, and evaluate treatment programmes including, but not limited to:
* Manage and treat patients with long-term conditions in line with national/local policies and practice needs with the inclusion of Home Visits.
* Review medication for therapeutic effectiveness in accordance with evidence-based practice and national/practice protocols, and work with patients to support adherence to prescribed treatments.
* Support and manage health needs of women presenting for Family Planning and Cervical Cytology Consultations.
* Implement and participate in Vaccination and Immunisation Programmes for both Adults and Children.

The post-holder will implement and lead on a full range of promotion and management of their own and others' health and safety and infection control as defined in the practice Health & Safety policy, the practice Health & Safety manual, and the practice Infection Control policy and published procedures. This will include (but will not be limited to):
* Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines.

* Keeping own work areas and general/patient areas generally clean, sterile, and identifying issues and hazards/risks in relation to other work areas within the business, and assuming responsibility in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness across the business in consultation (where appropriate) with other sector managers.

* Decontamination control procedures, management, and training, and equipment maintenance.
* Maintenance of sterile environments.

Qualifications
* Qualified Nurse.
* Experience of GP Practice Nursing.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Prescriber.
* Diploma in respiratory.
