Job Title: Clinical Safety Manager
Overall responsibility for the management of the Datix system and coordination of the serious incident processes.
Act as a central point of expertise to advise and support the Healthcare Groups in managing incident reporting processes, escalation, and external reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate the incident process, including liaising with external bodies such as the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Trust Corporate and Divisional teams, acting as a key contact to support appropriate and timely reporting in line with local and national guidelines.
2. Manage the Datix incident reporting system; serve as an expert user facilitating training and access for end users.
3. Serve as the main contact for designated Corporate / Divisional teams; provide cover and support for these groups outside of the direct remit when the designated lead is unavailable.
4. Line management responsibility for the Clinical Safety Team or provide support in the absence of the line manager.
5. Oversee the coordination and facilitation of the Incident Management Group (IMG) and Patient Safety Incident Assurance Panel (PSIAP) meetings to ensure process completion and support corporate teams in incident management.
Be an expert resource for advice on Clinical Safety Management initiatives within the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.
