Primary School Teacher

Prospero Teaching is looking for a resilient and experienced Teacher to work in one of our fantastic Primary Schools in Sunderland on a full-time basis for the rest of the academic year from March 2025. Applications from ECTs are welcome, and there will be opportunities for part of the ECT qualification to be completed whilst in the role. There are opportunities across KS1 and KS2, depending on the preference and experience of the successful candidate.
The role will involve planning and delivering lessons to full classes with the support of Teaching Assistants. A key part of the role will be to differentiate lessons appropriately and work effectively alongside other members of staff to ensure all pupils can make progress and are taught in a way that suits their individual needs and learning styles. Another key part of the role will be to build positive relationships with pupils and other members of staff to ensure challenging behaviour is managed in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner.
This role will involve:
1. Planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils and allow all pupils to make progress.
2. Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
3. Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner.
4. Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
5. Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress.
6. Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with children.
7. Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.
Requirements:
1. An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service, but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you).
2. QTS and Primary Teaching experience.
3. Experience of short, medium, and long-term planning.
4. Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress.
5. Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
6. Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport.
7. A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work.
8. Experience of Teaching within the UK.
9. A genuine passion for Teaching.
10. Strong organisation and communication skills.
11. A commitment to CPD.
