The Client
My client offers a range of professional services for Building Regulation compliance to assist our clients in meeting their statutory obligations, reducing design risk and the impact of program delays.
Our service is tailored to integrate with clients and design teams to develop project proposals through the RIBA stages to a state of readiness for submission for approval to the Building Control Body. The sectors they operate in are as follows: Workplace – new development and fit out (CAT A and B), Residential – Student accommodation, Care Homes, Education, Retail, Industrial, Defence, and Healthcare.
The Role
As a Building Regulation Consultant, you will be an important part of the design team and will need great communication skills, both written and verbal. Our primary role is to provide support and design advice to the “principle designer”, de-risking the design process prior to the submission of a full design package to the regulatory Building Control Body. Our ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of the regulatory regime and guidance documents that demonstrate compliance with the Building Regulations. Time management and project management skills are imperative. Working as part of an experienced and dynamic team, you will be a key player in helping to market and develop the service.
There will be a regular need to travel to visit our clients and their design teams, as well as projects on which we are appointed for the site inspection and verification scope. However, these projects will be those for which we are also appointed as Building Regulation Consultant. There will also be a need to travel for internal meetings.
