This role will require a hands-on approach working with the Head of Fleet and Equipment and Deputy Head of Fleet and Equipment. To ensure performance measures and KPI's are achieved and operational performance is maintained to ensure that the Fleet service team continue to evolve and develop. Developing new working practices engaging in strategic future development and improvement of our Fleet services.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be expected to conduct a variety of duties that will bring you into contact with a range of stakeholders. You will have a visual presence at all of the Service Centres within the area, supporting all staff within the workshop.
You will also be holding regular performance & budget meetings and conducting Health and Safety audits. There are exciting opportunities to be involved in various projects within the Fleet Department, such as planning, development and the design of new vehicles and equipment.
Most importantly, you will lead and inspire teams of people, assisting in developing positive cultures in line with Trust values and behaviours.
You will be required to carry out investigations if needed and produce various reports and root cause analysis covering highly complex technical information across a variety of situations and across the range of Fleet and Equipment services. Problem solving across a range of areas is paramount, actively seeking solutions to complex and individual issues.
The expectation is for you to work with multi-disciplined teams to continuously develop and evolve productive and efficient ways of working that contribute to department development.
You will be supporting the Head and Deputy Head of Fleet & Equipment in a range of high-level dynamic tasks that will mean no two days are the same.

Qualifications
* Degree in a relevant subject or relevant experience
* Holds or working towards high Managerial qualifications or relevant experience
* Full driving license
* Holds or working towards a Health and Safety qualification or prepared to work towards
* Qualifications held in a relevant subject
* Membership of a relevant professional body
* C1 driving license
* Holds high level qualifications in Engineering experience

* Extensive previous people management experience and ability to lead teams of multi-disciplined staff
