Rates: £65,000 per year
The Role:
We are currently recruiting for a SHEQ Officer to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will be based in our Burton Office and will reach sites from that location.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Ensuring a safe workplace environment without risk to health.
* Ensuring that all SHEQ policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated.
* Coordinating the development of SHEQ policies, systems of work, and procedures.
* Ensuring the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
* Ensuring the completion and regular review of risk assessments in partnership with the SHEQ Manager for all work equipment and operations.
* Ensuring that all accidents are documented, investigated, and recommended improvements implemented.
* Ensuring that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported and recorded, safety inspections, risk assessments, and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
* Ensuring full and accurate health and safety and training records are maintained, providing toolbox talks and safety briefings to support ongoing training.
* Establishing a full programme of documented SHEQ inspections, audits, and checks.
* Establishing a structured programme of health and safety training throughout the Company.
* Liaising with external health and safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services.
* Keeping up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety, and welfare at work legislation and communicating relevant changes to the business. Participating in monthly meetings when required to report on relevant health and safety matters.
* Monitoring and recording all relevant quality records alongside the Production Department to ensure compliance with UKCA Marking.

Must have:
* NEBOSH Diploma
* Experience with Steel.
