Grade SH31 About the Role The Head of Finance is a critical role and fulfils the Statutory 151 Officer duties which is determined by the Councils Constitution protocol. We are looking for someone with the appropriate professional qualifications who has the drive, enthusiasm and experience of leading a team to ensure effective delivery of the Finance service. You will play a full and active part in the corporate and strategic leadership of the Council through individual direction and the membership of the Corporate Management Team. Furthermore, you will provide high quality advice to the Council, its Executive and its supporting committees on all areas falling within the finance service. As a Head of Service, you will lead future resource allocation and financial planning to achieve the Council’s short-term and long-term goals as well as adapting to meet LGR requirements as they fall due. This role also has the responsibility to act as the Councils Senior Information Risk Officer (SIRO). The Head of Finance will provide pro-active and effective leadership ensuring that all of its resources are aligned to the delivery of strategic objectives. The role also acts as the decision maker for all matters which are within budget and policy guidelines.
