Our Finance teams support our trading teams to make the best commercial decisions, collate customer transactions, balance the books, and manage procurement.
The Finance function is a team of c90 colleagues across a range of disciplines. The team is small enough to enable roles to be broad but at the same time large enough to offer ample opportunities for development into new areas.
This role, reporting to the Finance Manager for Home Delivery and sitting within our Business Finance team, will support the 2-person Home Delivery teams to drive improvements in the most cost-effective way in an ever-changing and fast-paced operational environment.
This role is a permanent position and hybrid opportunity based in our Syston, Leicester office.

What you'll be doing
This role will involve:
* Dedicated Finance Business Partner to the 2-person team, driving the business towards its profit growth targets through effective business partnering and exceptional financial guidance.
* Supporting the strategy of productivity improvements, ensuring the business makes sound investment decisions with regards to new and existing contracts, as well as new innovative spend. Must be able to own the end-to-end appraisal and review process, drawing on support from other teams across Finance, Store Ops and I&A.
* Supporting and challenging the 2-person team with business cases, considering both financial and commercial factors, whilst considering the long-term plans and success of the whole business.
* Partnering in key business meetings, taking the lead for 2-person financials with credible participation in management discussions.
* Working closely with the finance analysts in the team to support a ‘no-surprises’ weekly reporting and month-end, whilst ensuring performance is communicated, understood, and presented effectively to the Head of 2-person.
* Managing the budgeting and forecasting cycle of 2-person costs, working closely with business owners to develop forecasts that are both realistic yet challenging, whilst managing the end-to-end process.
* The successful candidate must be a great business partner who will be able to quickly form strong stakeholder relationships with a respected presence.
What we'll look for in you
A successful candidate will have:
* ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA qualified with appropriate and relevant PQE.
* A proven Finance Business Partner, with the ability to manage stakeholders and deliver exceptional business value through strong customer focus.
* A strong capability in Excel and experience of using data manipulation tools such as Power BI, with evidence of developing insightful MI.
* An ability to turn information into a concise output displayed in a compelling way, focusing attention, and driving action.
* Proven commercial awareness with a strong technical grounding and a process-improvement mindset.
* A strong and self-aware communicator with an ability to influence and challenge at all levels.
* Drive and determination to own prioritisation, meet deadlines and to see things through.
* A change mindset: looking for new ways to do things.
