Job Description:
Support Worker - Shefford, Bedfordshire
Join us as a Learning Disability Support Worker and help build a future where learning disabled people live the best life possible.
We know that life can be complicated for everybody. But some of us are stopped from working towards our dreams. Many learning disabled people aren’t heard about the support they’d like. Some won’t get to decide what they do for work or how to spend or save their money. Many won’t get to try out new hobbies they’d love to try.
But you can change all that.
Join our growing team in Shefford, and get all the training you need to become a confident Support Worker.
If our values - Kind, Diverse, Positive, and Visionary - resonate with you, then we already have a lot in common. Come on board and support learning disabled adults with those very values to develop skills, achieve their life goals, and thrive in your community.
What we offer you:
* Location: Shefford (Residential)
* Salary: £ per hour
* Working hours: 30-hour contracts, with a mix of early shifts, late shifts, and every other weekend
* Sleep-ins at the service are paid at £
* Generous holidays: 33 days of annual leave (including eight statutory bank holidays)
* Pay incentives: 10% overtime allowance, 20% Bank Holiday allowance, 50% for key dates over Christmas
* Training & development: Fully funded Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care
* Benefits: Health, retail, and cash incentives
What you’ll be doing:
Every day is different. You may support someone with their weekly shop, go on outdoor adventures, provide personal care, support attending gigs, help build confidence in using public transport, or teach money management skills. Supporting people to discover new interests, achieve goals, and maintain relationships is key.
You’ll provide high standards of care and support for learning disabled adults, listening to their needs, assisting with daily tasks like medication and cooking, and helping build confidence for new adventures. Working various shifts helps support your work-life balance.
Having a full driving license is beneficial but not essential.
We look forward to meeting you at our Shefford services!
