We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our friendly team to support us in providing a high-quality and efficient Microbiology diagnostic service to our patients and users of our service.
You will be working alongside Biomedical Scientists and Associate Practitioners, delivering high-quality care for the patients of the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and self-organisation within their work, and the department will provide training and support throughout.
Main duties of the job
* Receipt and sorting of samples into the department
* Pre-analytical preparation of samples
* Data inputting of patient information/requests onto the laboratory computer
* Telephone enquiry and results service
* Assisting in the general cleanliness and tidying of the section
* Routine analyser preparation and operation
Requirements of the post:
* Previous experience of patient data inputting and any typing qualifications are desirable, but not essential.
* Flexible and logical approach to work, good telephone manner, and team working are all personal qualities which are essential to this role.
