Job title: Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer

What you’ll be doing:
* Compiling and performing equipment specification and analysis
* Developing parts, systems, and test systems while providing evidence of fitness for purpose
* Determining and maturing C&I requirements and providing compilation of technical documentation supporting parts / systems and test facilities
* Integrating systems containing electronic, mechanical, and software sub-systems
* Verifying that customer needs are satisfied through qualification and test activities
* Providing support to the lead engineer on technical work packages while reviewing and analysing designs
* Coaching other engineers and working with system owners, suppliers, and the customer to support delivered equipment and resolve issues
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
* Understanding of C&I systems design and demonstrable career experience with these systems
* Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science)
* Knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle with ability to apply good systems engineering practices to your work
* Chartered engineer or working towards this level
Desirable
* Awareness of Defence Standards and Industry standards for example IEC 61508 / 61511, ARP 4754, DO-178C / DO-254

The Active Vehicle Control (AVC) team:
As a Senior Engineer in the AVC team, you will be performing a host of C&I and system engineering design activity supporting the execution and delivery of the IV&V strategy. Helping us to design, develop, integrate, manage, and support control systems for in-service/future submarines. This role will involve employing niche and novel technologies onto the submarine platform which hasn’t been done before. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
