About the Role:
This role sits within the LSM reserving team with predominant responsibility to support Legal Entity reporting, with oversight and reporting of all matters related to reserving for LMAL (Lloyd's Syndicate 4472) and LMIE (Luxembourg Company). The role includes exposure to the UK and Luxembourg regulators, external auditors, and Board committee presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform the quarterly and annual Solvency II Technical Provisions for LMAL and LMIE and manage the SII regulatory reporting submissions.
* Contribute to the successful delivery of other regulatory returns for LMAL and LMIE including actuarial input into the following returns:
o For LMAL: QMB, QSR, TPD, QMA, GQD, Trust Funds
o For LMIE: NAIC return (Trust Funds).
• Support the completion of other regulatory reporting including:
o For LMAL: SAO report
o For LMIE: quarterly memos to the CAA, UK branch reporting.
* Help draft Actuarial Function Reports for the Estimate of Solvency II Technical Provisions, Opinion on the Underwriting Policy and Adequacy of Reinsurance Arrangements.
* Support the review of legal entity reserve development relating to the quarterly roll forward, non-cat deep dive reserve reviews and cat reserving, including supporting the quarterly and annual reserving performance papers to the Legal Entity Board committees of LMAL and LMIE.
* Collaborate with other teams within LSM, including the Central Reserving team for reserve developments, the Actuarial Modelling Team and Risk Management for contribution to the ORSA and projected reserves, Finance for Legal Entity Reporting and the Investments Team for Asset Liability Matching.
* Seek opportunities to develop existing and new processes, ensuring they are up-to-date and in line with regulatory requirements.
* Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements, demonstrating behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy.
Skills and Experience:
* Senior Analyst or Nearly Qualified Actuary.
* London Market reserving experience with broad knowledge of specialty (re)insurance portfolios and Solvency II.
* Strong IT skills - advanced knowledge of MS Excel and the standard MS Office suite is essential.
* Experience with big data manipulation and visualisation software such as SQL and Power BI or similar is an advantage.
* Analytical problem solver with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
* Commercially minded, with the ability to influence business decisions.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
* Ability to manage 1 or 2 analyst or graduate level employees.
