We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated UQ Support Worker to join our team at a home-based setting in Surbiton, London. You will be providing care and support to young people who require assistance with day-to-day living. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping these young individuals develop the skills they need to become more independent, offering guidance, support, and encouragement throughout their journey. Key Responsibilities: Provide practical and emotional support to young people who are not yet independent in areas such as personal care, education, social interaction, and life skills. Help with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, housekeeping, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. Support young people with their physical and emotional well-being, ensuring they feel supported and understood. Assist with planning and attending appointments, educational activities, and social events. Promote a positive and nurturing environment where young people feel safe and encouraged to grow. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, therapists, and other support professionals, to develop and implement personalized care plans. Monitor and report on the progress of the young people in your care, documenting and sharing relevant information with senior staff. Requirements: Enhanced DBS check with online update service (must be up to date). Previous experience supporting young people with additional needs or learning disabilities. A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them to reach their full potential. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Experience with behaviour management strategies and a clear understanding of safeguarding protocols is desirable.
