Performing over 700 EP/Ablation procedures per year including, 3D mapping, Cryo, PFA, SVT EPS, and a substantial VT Ablation Service. As well as more than 500 Pacing/ICD and 250 ILR procedures. At UHCW, we are proud to be involved in ongoing research in the field of CRM and EP, allowing us early use of new technologies and procedures. Our Catheter Suite provides a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services; PPCI/PCI, TAVI, Right and Left heart Cath, structural closures/repairs, Complex device implantation and extraction. Role Requirements We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, enthusiastic and highly specialized Cardiac Physiologist/Clinical Scientist to lead and develop our CRM/Electrophysiology and Invasive service here at UHCW Trust. Significant experience working independently as a band 7 specialist practitioner in both Electrophysiology and CRM. Work as a highly specialist practitioner across the range of EP, CRM and invasive procedures performed in the Department of Cardiac Investigation (DCI) and the Catheter Lab, providing operational management support to the DCI manager/Chief Clinical Physiologist. Provide nationally accredited highly specialist expertise for clinical practice, ensuring that all procedures and data produced meet required standards and are documented according to Operational Procedures/national guidelines. Manage workload for your designated clinical area, ensuring effective workforce planning, maximized capacity, and robust service delivery. Ensure diagnostic tests are performed in accordance with protocols, and reports containing complex facts and measurements are accurate and timely. Future Developments We anticipate future service developments, including advanced physiologist led clinics, with a Physiologist Led VT clinic already in operation, alongside a Joint Physiologist and Heart Failure Nurse Optimization clinic. We actively support the training of new cardiac physiologists, specialist registrars, and members of the wider multidisciplinary team, holding regular MDT meetings for case review, providing further training opportunities. Management and Development Reporting to the Head of Department for Cardiac Investigations, the successful applicant will manage a team of Cardiac Physiologists, drive innovation, recruitment and develop Cardiac Physiologist led services. This is a full-time role with clinical and on-call responsibilities. Contribute to service developments and expansion, participate in Audits, Capacity and Demand planning, and support business case developments. Experienced in CP led services for both EP and CRM and implementation strategies to drive efficiencies and meet capacity needs. Manage both the EP and CRM cardiac physiologists, participate in appraisals and personal reviews, and achieve agreed set objectives, including attendance of national and departmental meetings and accredited courses. Ensure full BHRS/IBHRE accreditation is maintained for self and team. Undertake further training for professional development and service provision, and be involved in clinical governance and service development. Manage financial budget and ensure adequate stock levels of consumables for continual service delivery. Support the Cardiology Operational Management Team in developing and adhering to protocols and guidelines, ensuring compliance with Trust/Operational requirements.
