Time 4 Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity for a Temporary Site Manager to work for a Tier 1 construction company in St Austell, Cornwall - for 6 months works with the potential to continue for the right candidate.
As Site Manager, you will be working with a market-leading contractor who designs and builds, constructs, refurbishes, and repurposes buildings across England, Scotland, and Wales - working on hospitals, schools, and universities - using the latest digital technologies and construction methods to enable the delivery of leaner, greener, and more efficient projects.
This project will start in January 2025 and complete in October 2026.
As Site Manager, you will be joining a £55m college replacement scheme which will create two new RC frame 3-storey buildings on a live college campus. The new buildings consist of insitu RC concrete frame construction with a mix of masonry and a built-up cladding system on an SFS frame, with curtain walling & windows, a bituminous flat roofing system, and internal partitions and finishes.
As Site Manager, it is vital to have a proven track record of supporting the construction and completion of similar projects, on time and on budget. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role will include the following duties:
Site Manager Responsibilities:
1. Follow the Construction Phase Plan (Project Management Plan), including all site procedures and practices and completing records and documentation.
2. Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Management Plan and BAM Operating Procedures.
3. Ensure construction environmental procedures are implemented on site.
4. Keep a site diary including records of subcontractor attendance and progress.
5. Ensure that appropriate quality records are being produced and monitored to verify that the works are being completed in accordance with the specified requirements.
6. Manage direct and subcontract labour and the keeping of records and allocation sheets.
7. Advise on buildability issues as required.
8. Set up and monitor handover schedules, keys, spares, and completion documentation.
Candidate Requirements:
1. A broad construction-based technical experience.
2. A proven track record of supporting the construction and completion of similar projects on time and on budget.
3. A relevant Health & Safety qualification and be competent to carry out site management tasks they are directed to do.
4. Confident in the use of IT packages and systems.
5. Self-motivated.
6. HNC/Degree, MCIOB or equivalent (S/NVQ level 5, 6 or 7) or a trades background.

Benefits:
1. Competitive day rate £275 to £325 per day.
