We provide support to Ministers, through Ministerial offices, and act as HM Treasury's external face, through the Press Office and Communications team. The Chancellor’s office is the key link between the Chancellor and the Department, providing her with full policy and administrative support. We are a small, fast-paced team, offering you the chance to work in the centre of government and help deliver HM Treasury policy across broad and complex portfolios. About the Role As the Chancellor’s Diary Manager, you will gain first-hand experience of core Government processes, including during high-profile fiscal events. You will enjoy a great deal of autonomy and benefit from opportunities to apply your judgment. We think this is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of government, driving forward ministerial priorities and engaging with high-profile issues Key accountabilities for this role include: Leading all aspects of the Chancellor’s diary, including arranging meetings on behalf of the Chancellor and ensuring they balance their ministerial, parliamentary, and personal priorities. Working with Treasury officials, private offices across government, MP’s offices, and external organisations; Processing all incoming invitations (for meetings, speeches, receptions etc.) and advise the minister accordingly; Co-ordinating and handling all logistical arrangements for meetings to ensure they run efficiently, including commissioning briefing and agreeing travel arrangements with the Chancellor’s protection team where appropriate; Taking ownership of record management in relation to the diary, including electronic filing, so that requests under the Freedom of Information Act can be met; Supporting the private secretaries in the day-to-day running of the office, including meeting and greeting visitors from reception. About you Our ideal candidate will be able to deliver an excellent and proactive service in a fast paced environment, using effective judgements. You’ll be able to use evidence and knowledge to support accurate decision making and advice. Lastly, you’ll be skilled at prioritising and adapting to meet tight deadlines.
