Job summary The role: We are looking for some new motivated and energetic support workers to join us at Bluebell Wood. You will be working as part of a team alongside Nurses, Nurse Associates, Senior support workers and a physiotherapist to provide a high standard of holistic care. Once established in your role there will be development opportunities to administer medication following completion of the relevant training. Alongside others you will support and care for children and their families and complete a diverse number of tasks ranging from supporting personal care needs, assisting nursing staff, helping children access pool sessions under the guidance of our physiotherapist, taking children to the seaside, movie nights and much, much more. The requirements: To fulfil the role effectively you must have a proven record of working in a care role and some recognised qualifications would be an advantage. About us At Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. We are support around 300 families both in our hospice and in their homes. Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family, including end of life care, symptom management, Post death care, Planned short breaks, counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy, Phsyiotherapy and much much more. We work with staffing ratios that allow us to deliver a high quality, holistic model of care which is tailored for each child and family. As a registered charity we receive around 16% of our funding from government sources and our fundraisers and supporters raise the remaining funds needed to keep our services running.
