Job Title: Safety EngineerEmployment Type: Full-time PermanentLocation: Stevenage*You must hold British Citizenship for this role*The OpportunityA market-leading UK defence company seeks a Safety Engineer to drive the delivery of cutting-edge defence systems influencing the development of complex weapon systems from concept to market delivery.The RoleJoin a team that shapes defence systems from concept to delivery, working closely with military partners. You'll play a key role in building robust safety and reliability cases, balancing assurance efforts with time, cost, and operational demands. With exposure to a variety of high-impact projects and international opportunities, youll develop deep technical expertise with our client known for their strong position within the defence sector.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong understanding of hazard analysis and safety assessment as part of the systems engineering processes.Proven experience producing key safety artefacts such as Safety Case Reports, Hazard Logs, FTA, FMECA, Functional Failure Analysis, and reliability predictions.Strong grasp of reliability as a holistic discipline, with experience in planning, analysis, and validation throughout system development.Solid knowledge of UK and international defence and systems engineering standards (e.g., DEF STAN, IEC, ISO).Understanding of complex defence-related electronic systems and associated safety and reliability challenges.Collaborative team player with strong communication and influencing skills, experienced in multi-disciplinary and multi-national defence environments.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with clear, concise communication.Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or technical discipline (or equivalent experience).Benefits PackageSalary : £50,000 to £60,000 (Experience dependent)Bonus : Up to £2,500 annually (Performance-based)Pension : Up to 14% combined employer/employee contributionOvertime : Paid overtime availableLeave : Up to 15 days Flexi Leave plus standard holiday entitlementFlexible Working : Open to arrangementsParental Leave : Up to 26 weeks enhanced maternity, adoption, and shared parental leaveFacilities : Subsidised meals, free parking, and more onsite amenitiesInterested?
