What You’ll Bring:
The Education People are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Service Manager to take responsibility for the safe, efficient and effective management of The Education People’s Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) activities including training, practice and assessed expeditions and residential programmes as a DofE Approved Activity Provider (AAP).
The successful candidate will lead, manage, plan, and coordinate the activities of the DofE AAP. Be responsible for the provision of high-quality training, expeditions, residential experiences and any other DofE outdoor learning related activities - including directly managing expeditions on the ground, the organisation of staff and programme planning.

What You’ll Achieve:
As Duke of Edinburgh Award Service Manager you will:
Manage and oversee the large team of ‘as and when’ expedition staff, including recruitment, staff rotation and salary management, ensuring staff hold appropriate up to date leadership and DofE qualifications, and the delivery of in-house and external training and CPD for DofE staff
Ensure that all bookings and service contracts are delivered to high standards and meet aims and objectives both safely and efficiently
Seek to continuously improve strategies, methods and practices to deliver an outstanding service offer and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, liaising with key customers and stakeholders as part of the service’s marketing and communication plans
Oversee the day-to-day management of the DofE AAP equipment store, ensuring appropriate high-quality equipment and resources are available for service delivery needs, and managed and maintained in an effective and efficient manner.
Ensure that the DofE AAP meets and exceeds all activity and teaching-related health and safety and compliance requirements

What We Require:
Significant experience in leading and managing DofE activities and expeditions across bronze, Silver and Gold levels
Substantial experience working with and teaching children, young people in a school, youth group or outdoor education and learning setting.
Full clean UK driving license with experience of driving larger vehicles with trailers
Experience of liaising with customers and managing expectations of service delivery and outcomes.
Substantial experience of working with children with regard for safeguarding and child welfare.
