Senior Finance Systems Accountant

At Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, we are looking for a Senior Finance Systems Accountant to join our global team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in managing and enhancing our finance systems, supporting teams across the firm, and driving best practices in financial reporting and system integrity.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Managing core finance systems, including 3E, Workday Adaptive Planning, Chrome River, Intapp Time, and Lawyer Portal.
2. Acting as the subject matter expert for finance systems, leading projects and system enhancements.
3. Driving best practice in financial processes and GL master data maintenance.
4. Partnering with finance teams worldwide to ensure compliance with statutory and tax reporting requirements.
5. Conducting reconciliations, validating data feeds, and troubleshooting integration issues.
6. Collaborating with external vendors and developers to enhance system functionality.
7. Designing, testing, and implementing new reports, system functionalities, and user interfaces.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
1. Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with experience in a finance systems role.
2. Proven experience in finance systems administration within a professional services environment.
3. Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes (procure-to-pay, work-to-cash, record-to-report).
4. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to investigate and explain financial data.
5. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with senior stakeholders across the business.
6. Highly proficient in finance systems (Elite 3E preferred) and advanced MS Excel skills.
7. A true team player, willing to collaborate and share knowledge.
8. Self-motivated with the drive and resilience to see projects through to completion.
Desirable:
1. Experience with different accounting approaches (accrual and modified cash accounting).
