Key Responsibilities as a Principal Town Planner:
* Lead the strategic planning and management of urban development projects, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
* Provide expert guidance on urban design, zoning, and environmental sustainability.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, local authorities, and stakeholders to achieve planning objectives.
* Conduct detailed assessments, including feasibility studies, impact analyses, and land use evaluations.
* Oversee and mentor a team of planning professionals, fostering growth and excellence within the department.
Qualifications & Experience needed for the Principal Town Planner:
* Degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related field (advanced qualifications preferred).
* Professional accreditation or chartership (e.g., RTPI, AICP, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
* Demonstrable years of progressive experience in urban or town planning, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
* Strong knowledge of planning legislation, frameworks, and emerging trends.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
