Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Engineering Planner who is responsible for efficiently planning, scheduling, and coordinating the installations and repairs of our products. This role requires close collaboration with engineers, resellers and customers to manage the day-to-day operational planning, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and maximizing installation and repair efficiency.
Key responsibilities
Scheduling and Planning
* Develop detailed work schedules for installations engineers based on project timelines, resource availability, and client requirements.
* Coordinate schedules to minimize downtime, optimize productivity, and ensure all installations are completed on time.
* Adjust schedules as needed due to unexpected changes, such as equipment availability or weather conditions.
Project Coordination
* Work closely with installations engineers to understand project requirements, scope, and any special considerations.
* Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure necessary parts, tools, and equipment are available for each installation.
* Track project milestones and report any delays, issues, or risks to relevant stakeholders.
Client Communication
* Serve as the main point of contact for customers regarding scheduling, project updates, and any adjustments to installation timelines.
* Handle customer inquiries related to installation schedules and proactively communicate any delays or changes.
Documentation and Reporting
* Maintain accurate records of all planned and completed installations, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up to date.
* Provide regular reports to management on project statuses, productivity, and any schedule variances.
* Document any challenges or recurring issues in project execution to improve future planning processes.
Compliance & Quality Control
* Ensure that all installation activities comply with safety and regulatory standards.
* Monitor the quality of installation work, coordinating with quality assurance teams to resolve any issues.
* Implement improvements to the planning and scheduling process to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Key Skills and Competencies
* Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the types of installations and equipment used by the organization, such as Mobile and Static CCTV equipment, Vehicle electrical systems
* Scheduling Software: Proficiency in the use of scheduling software as specific field service management tools.
* Project Management: Strong understanding of project management principles, with the ability to plan and monitor multiple projects concurrently.
* Communication Skill: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams and interfacing with clients, engineers, customers, and internal teams.
* Problem Solving: Ability to quickly assess issues and adjust schedules or resources to resolve them effectively.
* Organizational Skills: High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities, with the capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Working environment
* Office-based at our main office near Nantwich, with occasional visits to job sites to understand project requirements or issues.
* Hours: Full-time, may require flexibility in hours to accommodate project deadlines and customer needs.
