Full Time Operations Assistant
Operations Assistant required for long establish, reputable, family owned, bus operator based in Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
Modern, high quality 100% Volvo, well maintained, bus fleet.
Delivering local bus services within South and North Lanarkshire.
The Role:
As the full time, Operations Assistant you would be reporting to the senior operations team. You would assist in managing a team of approximately 50 drivers and 19 buses. As well as assisting with the day-to-day operations, you will work with the operations team to achieve service delivery objectives to a professional standard and ensure that good customer service is delivered.
Assisting with driver performance management to ensure minimal team turnover and work with the operations team in adding valued, new drivers to the team. Experience in an operational bus role would be desirable, as would the attainment of a National/International CPC. Training would be considered to achieve a minimum National CPC. In addition, a PCV licence would be beneficial to the role, as would strong communication skills and a desire to deliver a high standard of service to our customers across the business.

Responsibilities:
Ensuring that the operations work schedule is delivered.
To assist in driving a team to the highest of standards, by helping with development of the driving team with continuous improvement and support.
You will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operation of our drivers, local services and contracts, adhering to all Health and Safety rules and regulations and leading by example.
You will assist in managing the vehicle cleaning team and cleaning lists to ensure that all our vehicles are clean and ready prior to departure.
You will manage and record CCTV reviews to support incident and accident reports, issues, complaints and general inspection of activity on the road.
Establish a good working partnership with our Engineers which is essential to ensure our modern fleet of vehicles is to the highest of standards, required by our operator Licence.
Analyse, monitor and assist in managing delivery, quality and performance of all aspects of our local services and contract delivery.
Maintaining quality with high standards of our operating procedures.
Assist the operations team in the management of drivers with concise, clear and realistic objectives and provide any necessary support where required.
Conform to all statutory employment and compliance contractual legislations.
Assist with ensuring driving duties are allocated as required, each day, to cover local service duties, as well as any other necessary cover required.
Work with the Director’s and operations team to ensure that there is always sufficient operational support to ensure the traffic office is manned sufficiently to ensure successful service delivery.
Working with our Insurance Professionals to record, report and manage insurance claims.
Assist with Electronic Ticket Machine requirements and basic maintenance.
An ability to carry out ETM and tracking data interrogation and reporting.
Other tasks given on an ad hoc basis, ensuring good operational delivery, at all times.
Requirements:
Industry Experience (desired but not essential)
Hold a National/International CPC (desired but not essential – work towards attainment)
Hold a PCV licence (desired but not essential)
Computer literate – with experience of word, excel and outlook as well as programs common to the bus industry
Ability to multitask
To work efficiently and effectively in dynamic situations and ability to work to deadlines
