What skills and experience we're looking for
Due to an increase in student numbers, we wish to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Functional Skills, to join our successful, split-site academy as part of a supportive team.
Salary £32,189 — £49,274 (M1 - AL3 Academy Qualified Teachers Scale)
Our academy operates across two sites.The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst The Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5.
The post is open to teachers of all levels of experience, and we welcome applications from ECTs.
We are able to offer opportunities to teach a wide range of abilities inKS5 (Functional Skills / ALevel Maths and English/ ALevel Further Maths and English). We are able to offer further opportunities within leadership for roles including Year Lead.

What the school offers its staff
The Academies provides staff with the most appropriate and effective support to ensure that their professional development needs are fully met and that there is a high level of challenge in the opportunities they are offered. We have a weekly CPD programme for all and a very strong record of developing staff. We have an excellent track record of providing promotion and responsibility opportunities to staff that aspire to leadership.
All staff take ownership of their own learning journey and are given opportunities to reflect on their own practice, as well as supporting others through being members of Teacher Learning Communities. There is an open-door culture that encourages teachers to 'drop in' on colleagues, therefore promoting good practice within the schools. We are committed toSSAT Embedding Formative Assessment CPD programme for the next two years, as well as encouraging staff to further their expertise and leadership through both internal and external programmes, including the full suite of NPQ courses. We have a very strong record of developing staff from ITT to Headship.
