This entry-level training post aims to progress the post holder into the official role of Site Coordinator. The post holder will undergo a two-year training program, working alongside a team and reporting to the Site Services Supervisor. The role involves significant interaction with students, staff, and other site users, requiring professional conduct to uphold site standards. Key Points: Training: Two-year program across sites and competencies. Role: Front of house, significant contact with site users. Professionalism: High standards of conduct required. Flexibility: Work across various departments and sites. In addition, further competencies will be gained in the following areas: Responsibilities: Minor Maintenance: Perform tasks such as removing items from walls, dismantling and assembling furniture, and adjusting clocks. Team members will receive training to competently handle these minor maintenance tasks. Goods Inwards and Post Room: Provide support and cover during busy periods or when additional help is needed. Full training will be provided. Courier Service: Offer support and cover as required. Security Support: Assist with tasks like unlocking and locking doors. Job Responsibilities: Logistics: Provide efficient and courteous moving services, including relocating single rooms to entire libraries. Work alongside contractors or others to meet business requirements and deadlines. Assemble and disassemble furniture as needed. Ensure effective handling of all items being moved, whether offices or equipment. Caretaking: Set up and reset classrooms promptly for specified uses. Ensure classrooms, common spaces, and public areas are well-presented and report any defects promptly. Assist cleaners with cleaning, tidying, and daily rubbish disposal (including compacted waste where applicable). Replenish consumables in public and other areas as required. Move items around the sites, such as boxes, packages, and small furniture. Assist with unloading items into Goods Inwards and/or the post rooms and provide portering services across and between sites. Maintain cleanliness of outdoor spaces, including litter picking, jet-washing, and sweeping paths, car parks, roadways, and hard-standing areas. Responsible for gritting and clearing paths and walkways during cold weather. Operate the pallet truck. Keep local stores and storage areas clean, tidy, and secure. Undertake carpet, flooring, and deep cleaning duties. Other Duties / Competencies: Drive company vehicles and maintain them (tyres, water, oil, cleanliness). Report supply needs, building/equipment defects, and safety issues. Perform cross-site work using company vehicles as directed. Serve as a Fire Marshal and participate in emergency procedures. Complete manual handling and other mandatory training. Use a two-way radio for communication. Wear and maintain appropriate uniform/workwear. Adopt new technologies, including PDAs for task management. Undertake relevant training for the role. Personal Competencies: Physical fitness for tasks.
