About The Role
This is a newly created role for a specialist Adult Social Worker being offered on a 12-month fixed term contract.
The role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage in Islington. This role will sit within Adult Social Care, but will be co-located within the Housing Needs Service at Islington Council.
The postholder will be an integral part of existing multi-disciplinary teams, working across Adult Social Care, Health and Housing arenas, to support integrated care for adults with multiple needs, including, but not limited to; homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, ex-offending and domestic abuse.
The postholder will have excellent communication and people skills, and will be able to work in a flexible and solution-focused way to manage competing demands, including being able to offer rapid assessments in high-risk cases, whilst also holding a caseload.
The work will be varied and will offer valuable learning opportunities within the different disciplines. This will involve carrying out joint outreach shifts with colleagues to engage with individuals requiring ASC input, who are street homeless/rough sleeping or living in temporary accommodation, such as hostels.
Islington is committed to creating a borough which is fairer together, and this role is key in supporting this objective.
If you are a skilled social worker, who is passionate about working with people experiencing multiple disadvantage, this could be a great opportunity.
Advantageous but not mandatory are social workers with AMHP qualification.
