Oldham’s Children’s Residential Service is looking for a Home’s Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of a residential home supporting young people aged 16 - 18 as they prepare for independent living. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring high-quality care, effective safeguarding practices, and meaningful support tailored to each young person's individual needs. This role is ideal for a manager who’s ready to lead a team of Residential Workers focused on achieving the best outcomes for young people.
We’re looking for someone experienced in residential childcare, committed to delivering excellent care, and ready to bring their knowledge and skills to benefit both children and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee care delivery in the home, ensuring a nurturing and enriching environment for children.
* Lead and support the team of Residential Workers to meet high standards and achieve positive outcomes.
* Manage the home’s care plans, safety protocols, and overall compliance with regulations.
* Collaborate closely with our leadership and support teams in Finance, Training, and Administration.
* Guide and support care staff, fostering a positive work environment.
* Create and oversee individual care plans for each child, tailored to their unique needs.
* Ensure the home follows all relevant regulations and best practices.
* Mentor and support team members, offering regular supervision and professional development.
* Handle critical situations effectively to maintain safety and well-being.Work with schools, healthcare providers, and families for integrated care.
* Manage budgets, schedules, and records to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Requirements:
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or commitment to complete within 2 years).
* At least 2 years in residential care, with 1 year in a supervisory role.
* Skills: Strong leadership, excellent communication, and a thorough understanding of children’s care regulations.
* Enhanced DBS check and UK driving license (preferred).

The successful applicant will be required to register to the DBS Update Service to enable the Council to undertake rechecks throughout your employment. The cost to register is £13 and can be claimed back upon commencement to the role but will not be refunded if you do not accept the offer of employment.
