Your new role
Based within our Engineering Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for control systems engineering projects and maintenance activities within a manufacturing environment. The candidate is a critical member of the Engineering team and will take the lead role in improving equipment and process control systems reliability across all company assets of our pharmaceutical plants.
Main Activities/Tasks
1. Be part of the engineering team that ensures facilities & equipment are “Fit for purpose” as defined by EHS policies, Quality management system and strategic plan.
2. As part of a multi-skilled engineering team, provide automation expertise to key projects being considered for delivery of new products and resolving technical issues as identified across all sites.
3. Enhance project engineering capability and processes to deliver the capital programme on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality.
4. Ensure automated equipment is efficiently and effectively maintained whilst adhering to company SOPs.
5. Enforce quality driven methodologies for implementing changes and improving equipment reliability.
6. Providing technical support for automation systems specifications, planned maintenance, development and troubleshooting.
7. Provide project lifecycle documentation, including but not limited to; requirements documents, specification documents, data sheets, electrical drawings, commissioning documents.
8. Carry out computer (control) systems owner activities, to include configuration management and data control; ensuring that activities are carried out and records are kept in line with cGxP regulations.
9. Ensuring that external contractors are always adhering to procedures while on site.
10. Any other duties as deemed necessary by management.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Higher Level qualification in an engineering discipline & minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
2. In depth knowledge of process control and instrumentation.
3. Strong technical skills.
4. Experience of carrying out PLC based control system fault-finding and planned maintenance.
5. Ability to understand PLC logic code (Siemens/Mitsubishi) for the purpose of troubleshooting.
6. Logical and well-organised approach to problem-solving.
7. Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment, to operate under time pressure.
8. Ability to work as part of a team or unsupervised.
