What's the role?
As the Infrastructure Lead, you will support the Head of Infrastructure to provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance for the delivery, support, and continuous improvement of our on-prem and cloud infrastructure. With 90% of our infrastructure in Azure and 10% on-premises, this role is primarily hands-on, encompassing 75% engineering and design, complemented by 25% focused on policy, process, documentation, and leadership. You will play a crucial role in LCP's transformation, blending technological advancements with strategic insight to enhance our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
* Deputise for the Head of Infrastructure and act as an authority in the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure solutions for the Infrastructure Team
* Identify and remediate complex infrastructure issues, including cross-functional collaboration with technical and non-technical teams as required
* Continuously improve LCP’s overall infrastructure architecture, ensuring that it is engineered to facilitate development, automation, reuse, and consistency across the technology estate
* Lead on the delivery of standardised resource templates and configuration baselines, that enable approved teams to efficiently self-serve secure cloud-based resources
* Lead initiatives to reduce or eliminate manual or repetitive tasks, improving end-to-end infrastructure health and performance
* Contribute to the definition and implementation of policies to manage infrastructure components efficiently and securely
* Implement and manage processes and controls that assure maximum uptime and quick service to stakeholders for both physical and cloud-based workloads
* Collaborate as needed with InfoSec and the wide technology teams, to support key information security risk related initiatives
* Manage third-party vendor relationships and hold them accountable for delivery of any hosted or outsourced functions and act as a technical check and balance
* Establish and cultivate relationships with stakeholders, be a trusted advisor and technical authority within the firm’s engineering community and champion best practices
* Define and report against key metrics that demonstrate infrastructure effectiveness
* Participate in the on-call rota providing 24/7 support across 365 days of the year for critical and high priority incidents
What skills and experience are we looking for?
* First-hand experience and knowledge of modern infrastructure technologies (Office 365 and Azure services are essential), emerging standards, and trends
* Experience of managing infrastructure within a DevOps organisation – including Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automation, and enterprise monitoring and reporting tools
* First-hand experience of Palo Alto Firewalls, Meraki Enterprise equipment, physical infrastructure technologies, and cloud infrastructure technologies
* Strong and demonstrable experience of managing IP based networks, WAN technologies, virtual server technologies, cloud, DHCP/DNS, MS Office 365, SAN/NAS storage
* Demonstrable in-depth knowledge and experience with modern infrastructure event/log management and alerting and related workflow automation
* Ability to take ownership of and independently lead the delivery of technical infrastructure projects and the proactive resolution of infrastructure issues, to ensure solutions continue to meet business needs
* Ability to break a problem down into its component parts to identify and diagnose root causes, troubleshooting and identify problems across different technology capabilities
* Strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate several work streams simultaneously, while balancing priorities and quality
* Excellent communication skills with a capacity to present, discuss, and explain issues coherently and logically, both in writing and orally
* Ability to balance conflicting and changing demands through prioritisation and pragmatism
