We're looking for a driven and experienced Site Agent with a background in civil engineering, ideally with experience in the water sector. Our client, an industry leader in design, engineering, and construction, is expanding their team to support a strong pipeline of upcoming projects. With a range of high-profile infrastructure works on the horizon, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a key leadership role and make a real impact across the region.
As a Site Agent, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on site, ensuring safety, quality, and program targets are met. You'll be working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Subcontractors, and Clients, ensuring smooth site delivery from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage daily site activities to ensure the project is delivered on time, safely, and within budget.
2. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
3. Support the Project Manager with forecasting, valuation processes, and project reporting systems.
4. Monitor and enforce health and safety compliance.
5. Understand and manage temporary works requirements, ensuring compliance and coordination with design teams.
6. Interpret and implement project plans, drawings, and specifications.
7. Ensure all RAMS, permits to work, site inductions, and toolbox talks are carried out effectively and recorded appropriately.
8. Manage site documentation, reports, and records.
9. Tackle and resolve unforeseen technical issues promptly and efficiently.
10. Liaise with clients, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure expectations are met.
11. Drive quality standards and continuous improvement across all site activities.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Sub/Site Agent in the civil engineering sector.
2. Strong knowledge of construction methods, health & safety regulations, and project management practices.
3. Experience working on water or utilities-related infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
4. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, data, specifications, and schedules.
5. Proven experience in bulk excavation and delivering complex civil engineering works.
6. Solid understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and NEC.
7. Commercially aware with a keen eye for cost control and programme alignment.
8. SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications.
9. Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) is desirable.
10. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
11. Full UK driving licence.
