Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic IT Systems Manager to join our dynamic Business Systems team. This fixed term contract position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in the management of software and gaining further hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.
Projects will also feature heavily as part of the role and the applicant will be able to lead and support each project from 'Conception' through to 'Go Live' and will be required to immediately support the migration and implementation of our own SharePoint (Online) and M365 solution into the Trust. The role will require completing various activities from reporting to the project board, through to writing or capturing supporting documentation to ensure the team can fully support the software once the project moves into Business As Usual.
The candidate should have in-depth knowledge and experience of both SharePoint on Premise and Online, with an understanding of a NHS N365 Tenant highly desirable.
Based in Bath NHS House, the successful candidate will already have gained a significant amount of experience managing and supporting software within corporate and enterprise environments, and have proven skills and knowledge which will complement and support the team to ensure all applications are managed and maintained to known baselines through best practices and common methodologies.
Main duties of the job
IT Systems Manager working within the Business systems team, providing expert guidance and management of the on-premise and Microsoft365 SharePoint solutions, including managing the workload and provision of an efficient and effective support and development service against defined service level agreements (SLA's).
Monitoring the operational SharePoint environments (including interfaces) for faults, performance and stability issues, and fixing problems where needed within agreed SLA's.
Effective management of third-party suppliers, internal IT and non-IT resources.
Specialist technical lead to provide expertise in maintaining the on-premise SharePoint solution including, installing, testing, configuring, upgrading, patching and documenting through the agreed change control process and lifecycle management, in conjunction with the Trust's IT programme.
Responsible for the investigation, review, planning and specification of the current on-premise SharePoint environments and the introduction of the new Microsoft365 SharePoint solution.
Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning, ensuring that the solutions are up to date from an application perspective and provide support if invoked.
Ensure the SharePoint solutions are compliant with the Data Protection Act and Information Governance toolkit, in conjunction with the application Information Asset Owner and gather evidence to complete the Data Security and Protection (DSP) Toolkit.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience
* An understanding of PRINCE2 project management methodology or equivalent experience
* ITIL Service Level Management certification or equivalent experience
* Relevant certifications in Power Apps and Power Automate are a plus.

* Interpersonal and people handling skills, including ability to be diplomatic and persuasive and achieve conflict resolution

Experience and Knowledge
* Solid background in SharePoint at an architect level - for both On Premise and Microsoft365 environments
* Hands-on experience in designing and developing solutions with Power Apps and Power Automate in an enterprise environment integrating Power Platform solutions with other Microsoft 365 applications including SharePoint, Teams, and Excel.
* Demonstrable experience of IT Systems Management
* Excellent communication skills and experience of communicating complex information to individuals and groups of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation and 3rd parties
* In-depth knowledge of all stages of the software development lifecycle (From requirements analysis through to deployment)
* Experience of Team Management and providing expert guidance and a mentor to team members managing team workload and provision of an efficient and effective support and development service meeting SLA's
* High level understanding of processes for 1st/2nd/3rd line support function in IT in the NHS or other organisations
* Significant experience of software installation and configuration, system admin support & maintenance and upgrades
* Excellent understanding of change/release and configuration management and supporting activities
